 Cyclones in the Indian Ocean

Keynote talks on Disaster Risk Reduction, Organized by National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK).

Climate Change and the Indian Ocean
Climate change in the Indian Ocean and its impacts

The Indian Ocean has been warming rapidly and continues to warm into the future. The impact of this warming is far beyond what we have imagined. Indian Ocean warming has changed ocean circulation, raised the sea level, altered the monsoon patterns, and churned out intense cyclones and even locusts in recent years. Organized by the Young Earth System Scientists (YESS).

Interplay between the Indian Ocean, ENSO, and the Monsoon in a warming environment
Invited talk at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy. The talk delves into the warming in the tropical oceans, specifically the rapid warming in the Indian Ocean, and how it interacts with the tropical climate variability such as the El Niño Southern Oscillation and the Monsoon.
Whither the Monsoon?
Invited Talk on the Monsoon, at the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS), Irvine, California. This is an introductory talk on the past, present and future of the monsoon.
